A creator of natural wood pieces.

My Story

My building career has spanned 40 years, taking me from my hometown of Columbia, MD, to Aspen, CO, and finally settling in my current home in a beautiful, unincorporated location just north of Myrtle Beach, SC. Being 60 years old, I began to think about my next—and possibly final—chapter. I knew I wanted it to be creative and inspiring and had one simple rule: never build the same thing twice.

I decided to return back to my roots, and inevitably what I truly loved: no employees; no unrealistic timelines; making delivery the focus over quality; and just doing what I love whenever I am inspired (which happens to be constantly). Now I design and handcraft furniture and home accessories while having the added pleasure of collaborating with other inspired people—both as clients and peers.

[ Ok, so there’s a second rule: only build cool stuff. ]

Throughout my career, most clients gave me poetic license on projects. And, of course, there were projects that simply paid the bills, where artistic fulfillment wasn’t in the cards. This new chapter has reconnected me to my strong personal belief: that making art has always been more important than making money.

And so, Art Dingo Woodworks was born, where I make furniture, cabinetry, and art.

As my new chapter begins, I’m noticing some important things I’d like to add that feed my creativity: engaging with people in the woodworking community, getting feedback on projects, starting conversations, sharing content, and, in the end, maybe even selling a piece or two—or designing one with someone I meet along the way.

I’m looking for a collaborative community of artists to engage with, learn from, and create alongside.
